Safeguarding and Crisis Information

Last updated: 16 May 2026

This page explains adult safeguarding and crisis wording for the current platform model.

1. Adult-only current service

ViaPsych currently supports adults aged 18 and over only. Children and young people's services are not currently available through the platform.

Active child safeguarding pathways are not exposed in the live booking journey.

2. Emergency and crisis support

ViaPsych is not an emergency or crisis service. If you are at immediate risk of harm, feel unable to keep yourself safe, or need urgent medical help, call 999 or go to A&E. If you need urgent mental health support, contact NHS 111 or your local crisis service.

Do not use ViaPsych for urgent or emergency care.

3. Platform safety flags

If information submitted through the platform indicates a serious or immediate risk of harm, ViaPsych may take appropriate platform-level action, including notifying the clinician, restricting the booking pathway, advising urgent support, or taking steps required by law.

Safeguarding information is shared with your chosen clinician to support clinician review. ViaPsych does not clinically assess risk or make clinical suitability decisions.

4. Confidentiality and safety exceptions

Information is handled confidentially, but confidentiality may be limited where disclosure is necessary to protect life, prevent serious harm, comply with law or support safeguarding responsibilities.

Independent clinicians using ViaPsych remain responsible for their own clinical advice, diagnosis, treatment recommendations, prescribing decisions, record keeping and professional obligations.
